Citizenship, like love, is a gut feeling.
Don’t leave because you feel edged out, feel unwelcome or sense a time of great unease.
Don’t let someone else define for you what being Malaysian is or for. The country has to be big enough for all our differences, for we were born inside this country with those differences.
No one has to apologise for being any particular Malaysian. Sometimes you need to dig your heels in and tell people to bugger off. Much of the country’s malaise has been due to the more talented people in the country walking away when confronted with a wall of stupid.
Again, being smart makes you have the privilege of picking the fights in your life. What’s worth it, and what’s not. I’m trying to make a case for Malaysia.
Stick around, throw your weight. You might be surprised by the outcome.
rather well said, praba.
But at this moment, I really felt like banging my wall against that thick wall of stupid.
I guess I might just stick around to throw my weight... Unless, I just happen to be able to resist the temptation of good food and lose my weight.
